Getting legally married in Brooklyn
Brooklyn weddings use the New York City marriage-license process. Couples can start through the City Clerk's Project Cupid system and should confirm the current identification, appointment and fee requirements with the City Clerk.
New York generally requires the license to be issued more than 24 hours before the ceremony unless a court grants a waiver. The license is ordinarily valid for 60 days. Bring it to the ceremony and review the information for accuracy before it is signed.
