Getting legally married in Manhattan
Manhattan weddings use the New York City marriage-license process. Couples can begin through the City Clerk's Project Cupid system and should follow the City Clerk's current instructions for appointments, identification and fees.
New York generally requires the license to be issued more than 24 hours before the ceremony, unless a court grants a waiver. A marriage license is ordinarily valid for 60 days. Bring the license to the ceremony and confirm the details with your officiant beforehand.
